About Us

Background

The role of Cavan County Enterprise Board is to stimulate and support the creation of economically sustainable employment opportunities for all sectors of the community, on a countywide basis, through:

  • the promotion of an enterprise culture;
  • the provision of information;
  • advice, counselling, and one-to-one mentoring;
  • the provision of enterprise related training for owner-managers;
  • the formation of partnerships and alliances,
  • the fostering of economic development, and
  • the provision of selective financial supports.

Cavan County Enterprise Board is a company limited by guarantee, established by the Government in 1993, to help promote and encourage local enterprise development. Cavan CEB is one of 35 County and City Enterprise Boards nationwide (www.enterpriseboards.ie). The CEB network is currently funded by the Government's Department of Enterprise, Trade, & Employment (www.entemp.ie) through the National Development Plan (www.ndp.ie) , and part financed by the EU.

The key focus for CEB's under national policy is supporting 'microenterprises' ( i.e. enterprises with no greater than 10 employees). The manufacturing and traded services sectors are priority areas for support.
