Crannagh & Co International Trade & Business Services Ltd won national acclaim at a glittering ceremony in Dublin Castle on November 6th. The Belturbet based company were crowned the Winner of the County & City Enterprise Board’s National Enterprise Awards 2007. In its tenth year, the National Enterprise Awards is the largest competition of its kind for small businesses in Ireland. It aims to recognise and acknowledge the entrepreneurial and economic achievements of small businesses in Ireland today.
![]() Crannagh & Co. were established in 2006 by directors and sisters-in-law Carol Lynch & Michelle Lynch. A unique operation, the company provide international trade and business services to both indigenous and multinational companies. Seventeen of the Top Fortune 500 companies and twelve of the 100 largest private companies worldwide are among their client base, particularly in areas such as aviation, technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical and bloodstock sectors.
Michelle, a barrister specialising in International Law and former Vice President of the World Trade Centre in New York, and Carol, a former Vice Chairperson of KPMG’s European Trade & Customs Practice, have channelled their cumulative knowledge and expertise to propel the company to its current successful position in the marketplace. Currently employing eight staff, the company aims to target an increased base of international trading businesses and build upon their highly prized reputation.
Speaking after the announcement was made Mr. Vincent Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer of Cavan County Enterprise Board stated that “the selection of Crannagh & Co. as one of the top small businesses in Ireland confirms that they already rank amongst the elite of the Irish business community. Cavan CEB is delighted with this achievement, which was undoubtedly due to the innovative and professional service offered to businesses trading internationally”. Mr. Reynolds went on to say that “Cavan have a great record in the national final of this competition. Previous runners up include Shalveys Poultry Ltd, Cootehill, Airpacks Ltd, Kilnaleck and Sheelin Meats Ltd, Finea. The Obelisk Group, based in the Cavan Enterprise Centre, won in 2000 and subsequently achieved two further accolades at the World Young Business Achievers Awards in 2001.”
