Revised Suite of Financial Supports on offer from CEBs

A revised package of CEB financial supports for new and expanding enterprises was recently announced by Mary Coughlan, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment.

The changes allow for greater flexibility in assisting enterprises in key priory sectors. Applicants can apply for up to 50% of all business costs relating to a start-up or expansion. In general the maximum grant available is €75,000 with higher levels possible in certain cases. Assistance can be in the form of both grant aid and repayable assistance and are related to the potential for employment creation.

There are now 3 types of financial assistance that can be applied for – priming grants for new start-up companies and those in the first 18 months of trading , business development grants for expanding businesses,  and feasibility/Innovation grants for those investigating new innovative business projects.

The revised suite of supports  remain focused on key priority sectors – including manufacturing, internationally tradable services, and businesses being established by those returning to the workforce. Assistance is restricted in sectors where displacement of existing enterprises may be an issue.
